The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

 The Song of Achilles ⭐⭐⭐⭐

This book is different from my usual reads. The story follows two princes named Patroclus and Achilles. Achilles was a half-god, destined to be an amazing warrior, beautiful and talented. Patroclus was the opposite. He was just a normal boy, stripped from his royal title, a disappointment to all and was always told he'd achieve nothing. And somehow their lives intertwined and as they grew up together, they fell in love.

I adore the relationship Patroclus and Achilles created. It was slowly built on the friendship they created as they grew up together and developed into more. Patroclus was never seen as someone worthy of Achilles but Achilles always treated him as his equal.

Miller wrote their love story so poetic and so heartbreaking. Just like every authentic love story, it leaves you in tears at the end. Admittedly, there were parts of the book that I found very slow but I enjoyed the overall experience.
